Jamie Lavallee

My own interest in pursuing a career in massage therapy came after personal injury of my own.

Massage therapy helped me manage the extreme pain after a traumatic car accident in 2009.

Having had first-hand experience with chronic pain has allowed me to fully understand the psycho-social barriers to recapturing wellness after injury and my experience with a successful small business in the culinary arts also helped to give me the confidence and experience to follow this path.

After graduating from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2016 I began working & gaining experience in a wide range of ailments, conditions and treatments. At the Vancouver School of Healing Arts in 2018 I studied to expand my knowledge on body movement and meditation through the Yoga Teacher program.

Outside of work I try too keep active and maintain a healthy interest in hiking, kayaking and gardening as well as the finer arts. I love to spend relaxed time with my four beautiful children and partner and I try to live life to it’s fullest.

Our Clinic Space

The One Branch Therapeutic Wellness is a cosy, comfortable and private space nestled in the heart of Sechelt community.

Our clinic has multiple RMT’s and a private reception area

We value privacy and respect and upon arrival you will be greeted by your RMT and escorted to the treatment area, where, after an initial consultation; required before every session, your treatment can begin.

Every person comes for different reasons, so we make no assumptions before your visit and every session begins with filling out a short intake form and answering a few basic questions.

If you are a repeat client, some of this doesn’t need to be repeated but please allow time prior to your visit for this, as this is included in your time.

Registered Massage Therapy

Massage has a long history going back many hundreds of years, but isn’t often well understood outside of the profession. In recent decades it has taken a far more medical and scientific approach, being more open and transparent, combining knowledge from all parts of the world and the medical professions to constantly improve and make people aware of it’s real benefits.

The modern Registered Massage Therapist is a highly qualified, focused medical professional who has to constantly keep up to date with emerging knowledge and techniques, which they study and apply in practice to the benefit of their clients health and wellbeing. While you relax your therapist is analyzing and adapting their technique toward the goals of your treatment, be it for relaxation or pain management.

A Registered Massage Therapist knows about muscles, bone, joint’s, nerves, tendons and how your body is connected.  They combine tried and tested techniques with modern medical knowledge to help you achieve the best results possible. Choosing a massage therapist that is right for you is an important step in managing on going issues or achieving relaxation if you lead a stressful life around work.

With regular sessions the effects of massage are proven to help relieve stress, anxiety and lead to better quality of life around issues that are more persistent or long term.
